Review of the Mido Multifort Adventure Watch
Released
earlier this year, the Mido Multifort Adventure is definitely one of
the more attractive pieces from this Swiss made brand. The aesthetics are nothing short of amazing. I especially like how the watch mixes the brown and black hues in a fashion that seems thought out. This timepiece (reference # M025.627.36.061.10) is the latest model to join the ever-growing Multifort series. The Multifort line is in fact the most popular and the longest running series of watches from Mido.
The Multifort series was launched in 1934, and it celebrated 80 years
of production in 2014, making this line one of the oldest to be in
continual production in the entirety of Swiss watchmaking.
The case of this watch is a solid 44mm in diameter, and is made from
316L stainless steel, which has been anthracite PVD plated.
The slightly vaulted bezel is engraved with a tachometric scale that
offers a reading of average speed when the chronograph is engaged.
The bracelet is genuine brown calfskin that features a perforated
center and brown saddle stitching, which enhances the watch's
unmistakable sporty demeanor. Securing the watch is an anthracite PVD folding clasp that utilizes two safety pushers. The case carries a screw locked crown, and a screwed in caseback. This aids in the 100 meters (10 Bar) water resistance rating. At the 10 o'clock position is a quick date corrector, operated using a pushpiece that is provided in the box. The Mido Multifort Adventure also features an exhibition case back, evincing the decorated movement.
The dial is decorated with a Côtes de Genève guilloche design.
The hour markers are applied dots with the notable exception of an
oversized 12. Both the hands and the hour markers feature lume by
Super-Luminova®. The chronograph counters are located at 3 and 9, giving this model a bi-compax aviator look. Completing the dial is a date aperture at the 6 position. The Multifort Adventure carries a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Mido does an excellent job with the dial as it is both extremely legible and functional.
The movement governing this piece is the Mido Calibre 60 self-winding automatic movement. This movement is modified from an ETA A05H31 base. Power reserve stands at 60 hours, which is pretty good. The balance wheel beats at a constant 28,800 VpH. This model uses a Nivaflex NM mainspring, and an Anachron-Etastable balance spring. The Mido Multifort Adventure is adjusted at 5 positions to ensure accuracy.
